Camp Tamarack is an outdoor retreat facility located 5 miles west of Waupaca, WI. We have facilities for individuals or groups to meet, vacation, hold retreats, celebrate, or just relax. Whether for recreation, business, religious, or personal use, Camp Tamarack can meet your needs in a beautiful outdoor setting. Children 4 years old and under stay free.

Ideal daytime or overnight retreat center for retreats, group meetings, families and youth groups. Available during non-programming times - approximately September to May. Each room has its own bathroom, including shower. Galley kitchen available. (Accommodates up to 26 individuals)
As the main camp building, the lodge provides ideal meeting and meal space for groups of 100+ with sleeping areas for 22 in the lower level. Please note starting in 2023 the kitchen space is NOT available for rental.
Multipurpose facility with large upstairs meeting area that can seat 180, catering kitchen and downstairs sleeping area that can hold 38 and meeting areas. AV equipment available.
Only available during times when there is no programming. This cabin is not winterized. (Accommodates 3-4)
Renovated 2014 with double bed and bunk beds, with own shower facilities plus air conditioning.
Also available for rent are 10 cabins for a simpler camping experience with small to medium sized groups. Amenities vary; click the link for more details. Cabins are not winterized and are only available during non-programming times.
The grounds at Camp Tamarack encompass over 130 acres and border on three of the Waupaca area's famous Chain O' Lakes. The grounds encompass outdoor facilities and shelters as well as three campfire circles, and also include substantial lakefront access.
There is a waterfront swimming area with piers and raft. There are canoes and kayaks with equipment and a separate dock for their launch and recovery.
For an outdoor worship service, the vespers area is rustic and beautiful, overlooking the lake and built on a natural incline in the woods.
For a picnic or outdoor gathering, the main shelter is ideal for protection from rain or intense sun without having to retreat to the indoors.
For a night under the stars without all of the mosquitoes, or just a picnic for a small group, two Hogans are available for use when renting another area of the camp. Hogans are currently not available.
Arthur E. Basile Retreat Center
The Basile center, named after longtime camping director Art Basile, is a retreat facility set apart from the rest of the camp facilities. The facilities include:
6 Bedrooms each with a bunk bed, double bed, and private bathrooms.
1 Room with a murphy bed which can also be used as a small conference room.
Galley kitchen with dishwasher, cooking utensils and dishes.
Meeting room with fireplace, piano and TV with DVD player. Handicapped Accessible
John Gray Lodge
Beginning in 2023 the kitchen will no longer be available for rental. You may however work with the camp staff to have your meeting/rental meals included as part of your stay.
Facilities include a large dining hall and meeting room. This building can easily accommodate 100+ participants for meetings or events.
Dining Hall only- $75 per day.
Conference Room use only - $40 per day.
John Gray Lodge Lower Level
Includes use of Dining Hall. Heat/air, showers, catering kitchen. Linens are NOT provided. Sleeps 22
Features meeting rooms on upper and lower floors, a catering kitchen, dormitory style sleeping quarters, showers, heat and AC. This building can be used by multiple groups for a variety of functions year round. AV equipment is available for use upon request when renting the Tamarack lodge. The upper level can seat approximately 180. The lower level can accommodate groups of 50 (38 overnight) Linens are NOT provided.

Cornelius Leadership Cabin
Named after Rev. William Cornelius, a longtime leader of the camping program of the American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin. This cabin was renovated in 2014 to include a double bed, a bunk bed, air conditioning and its own shower facilities. Linens are NOT provided. Accommodates 3-4
This space is NOT winterized.
The Hyde Suite named after the first director of the camp program, Reverend Arthur Hyde, is a year round motel style room. It is equipped with a double bed and a single bed, shower, heat/air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Linens are NOT provided. Currently, this space is NOT available.
Cabins 1-4 and 7-10 are the most rustic of cabins and are equipped with sink, toilet, and hot running water. Cabins 5, 6 are equipped with sink, toilet, hot running water, and shower facilities. Cabin 6 is handicapped accessible.
