Advent Retreat 2018

Join Us at Camp Tamarack before the hustle and bustle of the Holidays for some time to be creative and reflect on the season. Each session will include a meditation on the Advent themes of Faith, Hope, Joy and Love, plus an opportunity to create 6 cards of one design on the left with Heidi Olsen. Tamarack Tales: The Water Tells A Story

Camp Tamarack hosted its first-ever Tamarack Tales nature camp in July of 2018. With three lakes and a little over 180 acres, there is a lot of nature to be had at Camp Tamarack Most campers know about Orlando Lake, which is where our swimming beach is. Some know that Orlando is connected to Knight Lake, which is what the Vespers area overlooks. Tamarack Tales – New offering in 2018

The camp runs July 15-18 and there is still time to register! Tamarack Tales is an interactive hands-on-get-dirty exploration of Camp Tamarack’s forest, prairie, wetland and lake features. Participants will start by learning to use DOTS (The Digital Observation Technology Skills) technology kits to analyze lake samples for water quality. This inquiry-based lesson navigates the basics of the scientific method and focuses on the importance of good scientific communication and sharing discoveries with others. Camp Embarks on New Partnership

Collaboration and Rootedness: Camp Tamarack and Rawhide Partnership This spring, Camp Tamarack and Rawhide have begun a new partnership with the re-roofing of the Basile Retreat Center. This particular partnership started back in 1988 when Carolyn Scott (now Dugan) and Jeff Steffen attended Sr. High camp together and became lifelong friends. Fast forward 30 years when Carolyn becomes the Associate Regional Minister: Camping and Jeff is now a Case Manager working at Rawhide. They both saw the opportunity to help one another.
